The Nikkei ended down 2.04% Wednesday, falling to a low of seven months due to a strong aversion to risk caused by both the decline posted Wednesday on Wall Street and by the disturbing news in from China.
The Nikkei lost 191.04 points to 9,191.60 and the broader TOPIX, surrendered 13.03 points (1.55%) to 828.39.
The pace of Chinese manufacturing growth slowed in June partly because of efforts by Beijing to curb the housing bubble and fears surrounding the health of the global economy.
