The industrial orders in the eurozone rose slightly more than expected in June, according to statistics released Tuesday by Eurostat.

Economists and analysts polled by Reuters had forecast average for June increased 1.5% from May and up 22.9% over one year.
The figures for May were revised upward to 4.1% on month and 23.0% respectively on a year against 3.8% and 22.7% in the initial estimate. These figures are the highest recorded since May 2000.
Excluding volatile items such as aircraft orders, trains and boats, the increase in June stood at 1.6% over one month and 22.5% YoY.
The rise in orders for the month was largely sustained by a surge in orders for capital equipment rose 5.3% on month and 22.7% YoY.
