Three members of the Board of Directors of Alstom in the UK have been placed in custody on suspicion of corruption, money laundering and false accounting, announced the Serious Fraud Office UK.
The arrests came after raids on nine sites of Alstom, said the SFO.
The British authorities suspected payment of bribes, kickbacks in order to win contracts abroad. There would also money laundering and other offenses.
The three arrested men, aged 44, 51 and 52 years were interviewed in various police stations, said the SFO.
A spokesman for Alstom said that the group had made no comment to make immediately.
In exchange, the title fell 3.08% to 1030 GMT.
